On the road again!

After our massive home round last Saturday, it’s only fair that the majority of our Junior and Senior teams hit the road for this weekends action. And from Frankston to St Bernards, we’ve certainly got most regions of Victoria covered!

Our WPL girls will be looking to take it to the red-hot Mentone on Saturday arvo from 2pm, whilst our MVL1 look to make it 4 wins on the trot as they take on a challenging Frankston outfit on Sunday arvo at 2pm. See more of a detailed preview for each of these matches below.

If you can’t bare to leave our local area, there is some good news for you! On Sunday, we have our WPB, WPC and MPC in back to back to back action at H1 from 12:30-5:00pm. Also, for the very brave hearted, our MMB team is playing the ripper 6:30pm Sunday timeslot out at Waverley as they look to continue their good form.

Good luck to all teams wherever you find yourselves this round, and get back to us with how you get on! #gotem

TEM stalwart Hugh McLaughlin will play his 200th match for the club this weekend

Performance of the week: Goes to MVL1R. They finally broke the shackles and showed the form that took them all the way through to the GF last year, smashing Gippsland Bulls 8-0. Unbelievably, TEM stalwart and milestone man Hugh McLaughlin missed his second stroke of the season. Don’t let him near the spot!

Milestones – Palma Casonato (WPC) - 300 games, Hugh McLaughlin (MVL1R) – 200 games

Round 4 Senior Fixtures:

MVL1 (5th) vs Frankston (6th) | Sun 17th May | 2:00pm @ PHC

In contrast to their match against Yarra, the VL1 men stuck true to their game plan for the full 70 minutes to run out winners over Gippsland Bulls last weekend 4-1. It’s a tough trip for them again this round, as they venture out to the Peninsula Hockey Centre to take on a determined Frankston outfit. Freshly promoted Frankston have started the season all guns blazing, and sit only one place below TEM on the ladder. Should be a thrilling match!

The WPL girls went toe for toe with Waverely last week in a tightly contested match, but unfortunately came out on the wrong end in a 2-4 loss. A powerhouse in WPL over the last few seasons, Mentone got back to winning form last week in a 7-2 thumping of Essendon Ladies. Our girls are ready to embrace the challenge as they face one of their toughest tests so far this season.
