“Hey Julie, what are you doing tomorrow?”

“Oh, I don’t know. I’ve got heaps of things to do round the house, might get a haircut, might wash the dog, have to catch up on Game Of Thrones…”

 Wrong answer Julie!

It’s the BIGGEST home day of the year tomorrow, and you shouldn’t be anywhere else!

It’s time to celebrate all of the amazing females that make our club so special. Tomorrow, there will be a HUGE home round highlighted by the Women’s Day in which we acknowledge the impact that women have had on our club and within the hockey community.

It will be celebrations all round with plenty of banners and posters made by our junior girls, a medal presentation for the WPL best on ground and a BBQ running right throughout the day amongst other things! Everyone is encouraged to wear pink to join the club in recognizing how special the girls, both young and old, are to our sport.

And there are HEAPS of teams for you to get around at the clubrooms. In what is the biggest club day to date, SIX of our Men’s and Women’s teams will be playing from 12:30 right through to 8:00pm! MVL1 will be taking on Gippsland Bulls from 2pm, and WPL tackle Waverley from 3:30pm. Then, we will all be partying into the night with a big home function on from after the last matches. Music pumping, BBQ sizzling, what more could you want?

Get down to Women's Round!!!

Also, our juniors have their first home round of the season tonight so get on down and support them from 6:30pm with our U14 Girls taking on Gippsland Bulls. Tomorrow morning also sees most of our young guns from action at home from 8:15am with the TEM Pumas and Leopards squaring off. Should be a feisty affair! #gotem

Performance of the week: Goes to Mens Metro B team. A comprehensive 3-0 win over arch-rivals Hawthorn has them sitting pretty with 2 wins from 2 games. Good job blokes!

Round 4 Senior Fixtures:

MVL1 (5th) vs Gippsland Bulls (8th) | Sat 9th May | 2:00pm @ H1

The boys had a brilliant first half out at Yarra Valley last week to completely surprise their higher fancied opponents, but they were forced to grind the match out after Yarra hit back hard in the second half to win 2-1. A full 70 minute effort will be required this week to take down Gippsland Bulls, with nothing splitting the two teams in a pre-season practice match. Vital points up for grabs.
