U16 Shield – The TEM Under 16 Shield team braved arctic conditions at Footscray on Friday night. Several District players answered the call after the team lost half a dozen regulars to injury and school holidays. All acquitted themselves well, but the highlight was Conor Game's cameo in goal. Up against the #2 in our comp the kids were unlucky to be 2-0 down at half time, with two rebounds falling to the advantage of Footscray forwards.
TEM full backs Kobe Dudley and Jai Lockwood proved hard to beat all evening and set up some promising drives into the forward line. The final score was a creditable 4-0 down. Enjoy the break, team. The next outing is against West Vic at the SHNC on 15 July.
U14 Girls Shield – The TEM Under 14 Girls Shield team recorded another strong win against Waverley winning 6-0. It was another excellent team win, with plenty of goal scoring action and some fantastic team play and passing.
U14 Shield – TEM U14 Shield learnt a valuable lesson on Friday night about turning up to play. In a game well within the team’s ability to win, lack of focus meant TEM went 3-0 down into the break. The second half showed much better focus and concentration which allowed the team to finish the game 4-1 down. U14 Shield now must take this “Need to come fully ready to play” attitude into the next match. Good luck to all TEM Juniors involved with JSC.
U14 District – TEM U14 District had a tough match with plenty of new players stepping up, so unfortunately lost 8-1. It was a very tough and difficult first half for the team, but everyone managed to improve a lot for the second half of the game. TEM scored from a very good team play and an outstanding finish from one of the boys, Oliver Ross.
U12 Shield – Back at the home of hockey, the Under 12 Mixed team played against Altona. Although finishing a draw at the end whistle, the boys played well - with many new players joining the Shield line-up. Enjoy the holiday break. See everyone back at training refreshed for the second half the season!
