TEM Juniors Finals Review

U14 Girls Shield – The Under 14 Shield girls opened their finals campaign with a strong 4-1 win against Doncaster. The girls played a fantastic team game. They were excellent in defence keeping out a number of Doncaster short corners, while the midfield worked tirelessly all game to transition the ball from defence to attack and created a number of scoring opportunities. The forwards were desperate up front and linked up well to score 4 team field goals. Well done girls on a top team performance. The win earns the Lions a week off and a spot in the grand final in two weeks time!

U14 District - The U14 Mixed District team came up against MCC in their semi final. The team went down to an early break-away goal but with a big crowd supporting them TEM hit back with a brilliant one-time slap from Flick Edmondson to level the scores. The team came out firing in the second half with Bennett West scoring off a short corner putting TEM in front.

The kids held against the relentless attack from MCC but succumbed to a goal late in the second half. With time against them TEM pressed their defence with many chances to score and the final whistle blew as Bennet West was about to shoot - ending the game 2-2. Unfortunately MCC finished higher which meant that they progressed through to the finals.

U12 Girls Shield – The TEM U12 girls played in the semifinal against Camberwell. Despite having so many chances to score the ball wouldn't go in the net. The girls played really well and had the ball in the attacking half of the ground most of the game. Unfortunately with about 3 minutes to go in the game Camberwell were awarded a short corner and scored, meaning TEM’s final hopes were ended. While not winning the game the girls can be satisfied that they played their best and gave it their best shot.
