Flames Development Colleges 2016
The Central Flames region has organised a Girls Development College through the pre-season. This has been a great programme and opportunity to develop skills for younger players in a new environment. For 2016, the Flames are also running a Boys Development College. Details and sign-up links below, or contact Pip or Ben here for more information:

- Sunday 14th February
- Sunday 21st February
- Sunday 28th February
- Sunday 6th March
- Sunday 20th March
The college sessions will all run at Melbourne High School with 90 minutes pitch time followed by 30 min morning tea and break up, before departure:
- Boys College: 8.00am-10.00am
- Girls College: 9.30am-11.30am
The colleges will focus primarily on technical player development, with a coaching panel led and overseen by John Mowat, Game Education Manager for Hockey Australia.
Please note that participation in Flames lead development initiatives has no administrative bearing on eligibility or preference for selection at any other level such as Junior State Championships teams. Whilst we would encourage all young players to leap at opportunities to develop their skill base, we do not believe every program is suitable for every player. It is important that players and their parents manage their own welfare and time to ensure a healthy balance of development and enjoyment of both our sport, other interests and school commitments.
